Game one is in the book for the Carolina Lighting Midgets with a 4-4 tie against the Columbus Capitals Tuesday, December 26 in Columbus.
The Lightning jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead at the end of the first period on goals by Hayman, Danku and Sirois. The Capitals stormed back in the 2nd period to knot the game at 3-3. The Capitals looked like they had all the momentum when they took a 4-3 lead in the third, but with the goalie pulled and 14 seconds left, Miracle tied the score. The game ended in a 4-4 tie.
Across town, the Pee-Wee's won their game 3-2.
